Macy added to Nantucket festival

Event set for June 19 - 22

Jonathan Levine's 'The Wackness' is one of the opening-night films at Nantucket Film Festival's 13th annual edition.

William H. Macy have been added to the lineup of the Nantucket Film Festival’s 13th annual edition, running June 19-22.

Macy joins Time Magazine critic Richard Corliss for the In Their Shoes event to talk about screenwriting and acting.

Also onboard, Mat Kearny will inaugurate the Music Cafe and Panel event with a perf of his songs featured in television shows “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Friday Night Lights.”

Post-set, there will be a panel focused on how songs make their way to the big and small screens with East Coast creative and EMI publishing veep Dan McCarroll and Aware Records/Asquared Management prexy Gregg Latterman, who works with Kearny.

Festival will announce the winner of Showtime’s annual Tony Cox Award for screenwriting, juried by Doug Liman, Chris Eigeman and Liz Tucillo.

Opening-night films are director-co-writer Brad Anderson’s “Transsiberian” and writer-director Jonathan Levine’s “The Wackness,” both of which preemed at Sundance earlier this year and will be released this summer.

Features set to unspool include “American Teen,” “Choke,” “Frozen River” and “Sleep Dealer.” The staged screenplay reading is Billy Wilder’s “Some Like It Hot.” On the unscripted side, Anne Meara and Peter Farrelly return with “Late Night Storytelling,” and for the early birds, critic Leonard Maltin will host “Morning Coffee With.”
