To raise money for the Chinese hit by the recent earthquake, Hong Kong star Jackie Chan has teamed with Korean singer-producer Park Jin-young (aka JYP) and "Tae Guk Gi" helmer Kang Je-kyu to make a Live Aid-style record.
The song, "Asia Is one, We Love Asia," celebrates the unity of the region in the face of the devastating quake that hit the Sichuan province on May 12.
More than 30 Korean pop stars and celebs, including figure skater Kim Yeon-ah, Korean Wave star Park Young-ha and actress Kim Ah-joong, recorded the song at a studio in Seoul on Thursday morning.
Chan has already finished recording a song for the project in Beijing with Chinese stars including Yifei Liu ("Forbidden Kingdom") and Bingbing Fan ("Battle of Wits").
"I will work with Japanese stars in Tokyo following China and Korea. I'm also planning a charity concert in the three countries," said Chan.
Meanwhile, Chan and Korean actress Choi Ji-woo will be honorary ambassadors of Korea's Hallyuwood, described as an "Asian entertainment mecca" being built in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.
