EuropaCorp TV will feature mobisodes, news features, “makings of” and interactive content.
The mobisodes -- very short films designed for cell phone viewership -- may either be EuropaCorp productions or user-generated, to encourage new filmmaking talent in France.
The creation of EuropaCorp TV, one of 13 applicants that received mobile TV licenses Tuesday from France’s Conseil Superieur de l’Audiovisuel regulator, forms part of EuropaCorp’s drive into new technology and business practices and its hallmark courtship of young mainstream demos in France.
Besson is well into production on the second and third parts of his “Arthur” toon feature trilogy, which combine live-action and CGI animation.
Licenses were also granted to France’s three commercial webs: TF1, M6 and Canal Plus -- plus eight DTT, pay TV or broadband TV channels.
