Pic, which boasts a who’s who of muscular U.K. thesp talent, including previously announced Ray Winstone, Ian McShane and John Hurt, started shooting this week in London.
Photographer and commercials helmer Malcolm Venville is making his feature directorial debut with the pic, about a Brit gangster (Ray Winstone) who seeks revenge on his wife and young French lover.
“Sexy Beast” scribes Louis Melles and David Scinto have written the script. Richard Brown and Steve Golin (“Babel”) are producing with Paul Green exec producing.
Prescience Film Finance and Twilight Production & Entertainment Corp. are financing the pic, with IM Global handling worldwide sales.
Canada-based Alliance Films has already picked up “44 Inch Chest” for release in Canada and through its international distribution network in the U.K. with Momentum and Spain with Aurum.
