By ED MEZA

BERLIN — Thomas Grube's big-screen documentary “Trip to Asia — The Quest for Harmony,” which examines the Berlin Philharmonic and celebrated conductor Simon Rattle, attracted a slew of international buyers at last week’s Cannes film mart.

Pic sold to France’s Films Sans Frontieres, Cetera Intl. in Japan, the U.K.’s Axiom Films, Gutek Film in Poland, Swiss distrib Xenix and Austria’s Poly Film.

Since premiering at this year’s Berlinale, the critically acclaimed doc has grossed more than $1 million at the German box office.

Berlin-based Boomtown Media Intl., which produced Grube and Enrique Sanchez Lansch’s 2004 hit doc “Rhythm Is It!”, is handling international sales for “Trip to Asia.”
