Road sees slight rise

Road Grosses

NEW YORK -- The road rose less than 1% in Week 51 (May 12-18), bringing the total gross for the 11-show slate to $11,510,997.

The uptick is a slight surprise, given the absence of "High School Musical" (which is in layoff this week), but business was booming elsewhere, with broken records for "Monty Python's Spamalot" and the traveling production of "Wicked," which set a new high bar for houses in Madison, Wis., and Kansas City, respectively.

Other notable changes included $200,000 jumps for "Avenue Q" in Miami and "Jersey Boys" in St. Louis, which was the highest-grossing show of the week with $1,658,435.
