Madonna will present her docu on the devastated country of Malawi, �I Am Because We Are,� at Michael Moore�s Traverse City Film Festival in Michigan.

The Material Girl will take time off of rehearsals for her upcoming �Hard Candy� tour to attend the Aug. 2 gala screening in Traverse�s State Theater.

Produced by Madonna and directed by Nathan Rissman, �I Am Because We Are� preemed at Tribeca.

�I saw her film a month ago and was so deeply moved in a way that rarely happens with movies these days,� Moore said. �I asked her immediately if she would come to our festival, and she said yes. Her presence here in Traverse City will have a profound impact on people.�

Founded in 2005 by Moore, the Traverse fest emphasizes foreign films, American independents and documentaries. It runs July 29-Aug. 3.
