Screenwriter Zekial Marko dies

TV credits included 'Rockford Files,' 'Kolchak'

TV and film writer writer Zekial Marko died May 9 of complications related to emphysema in Centralia, Wash. He was 74.

A Writers Guild of America, West member since 1964, his television credits include episodes of "The Rockford Files," "Kolchak: The Night Stalker" and "Toma."

His screen credits include the 1964 film "Once a Thief," based on his novel. In addition to writing, as an actor Marko made several appearances over the years in TV and film projects he penned.

Marko is survived by his wife, Sue, two daughters, a son, Zoyan and a brother.
