Grossman replaces Mark Robichaux, who had served as editor since August. Robichaux moves over to Multichannel News, where he'll now serve as editor.
As part of the changes, editorial director Tom Steinert-Threlkeld has left the company.
Both Broadcasting & Cable and Multichannel News are a part of Reed Business Information and sister publications to Variety.
Grossman had most recently served as B&C's Los Angeles bureau chief. He joined the publication in 2005; before that, he worked as a corporate communications exec at various entertainment and sports firms.
Robichaux spent 13 years at the Wall Street Journal. He also wrote the book "Cable Cowboy," about John Malone.
Announcement of the changes were made Thursday by Reed Television & Publishing Group prexy Jeff DeBalko and Television Group publisher Larry Dunn.
