Deschanel, who has been nominated for five Oscars, will receive an honorary doctorate of fine arts. He recently worked as cinematographer on "The Spiderwick Chronicles."
Firstenberg served as AFI CEO and director from 1980-2007, and was the organization's second leader since its creation 1967. As president emerita, she is being honored with a doctorate of communication arts.
Org will present Jewison with a doctorate of fine arts. The producer-director has been nominated for seven Oscars, helming such films as "In the Heat of the Night," and "Fiddler on the Roof."
