Network has moved oversight of first-year shows to the development execs who shepherded those skeins through the pilot process. As a result, a handful of execs were pinkslipped Tuesday: current programming managers Monique Nash and Xenia Lok and drama development director Yvette Urbina.
"This is part of a restructuring reflected in our year-round development process, where the comedy and drama development departments will assume a larger role in shepherding first-year shows," the network said in a statement. "As a result, certain shifts in responsibility were made."
Meanwhile, the net confirmed Tuesday that FX exec Matt Cherniss had rejoined Fox as exec VP of programming under Fox Entertainment prexy Kevin Reilly (Daily Variety, May 19).
"We've had a philosophical change in the way we approach programming, and as we take the next step in our year-round process, Matt is the ideal executive to lead the charge," Reilly said.
Cherniss, who first joined Fox in 1994 in the research department, was most recently senior VP of original programming at FX, working on shows such as "Damages" and the upcoming "Sons of Anarchy."
