MK2's most surprising Cannes sales results may, however, be for Critics' Week player "Rumba," picked up by Sound and Media for the U.K., Benelux (Cineart), Germany (X Verleih), Japan (Shibata Org.) and Korea (Mars Entertainment), among larger buyers.
"Puss" has been picked up for Spain (Wide), Korea (Yejilim Entertainment), Russia (Luxor) Hong Kong, China and Taiwan (Golden Harvest), plus a slew of smaller territories.
On "Puss," En Pantalla has taken all South America save for Brazil (Califirnia).
Gilles Beat's thriller "Diamond 13," which teams Depardieu with thesp Olivier Marchal, has also been taken by Wide for Spain and Brazil's California. Movie Max/Mondo Entertainment has stepped up to the plate for Italy. China (HCG) and Rissia (Ren TV) have also gone down.
Following an earlier market U.S. pickup from IFC, diverging siblings drama "Summer Hours" has also sold to Spain (Baditri), Scandinavia (NonStop), Korea (Pan Cinema) and Australia (Palace), marking it out an a good Cannes arthouse seller.
