Action Slate Films, the production joint venture launched by Las Vegas-based Birch Tree Entertainment and India's Infinity Filmed Entertainment, has set up English-language martial arts action adventure "The Sanctuary" for a July start in Thailand.

"Sanctuary" will star Mike B ("Brave") and Gary Daniels ("Tekken"), and is written and helmed by Thanapon Maliwan ("Brave"). Film will be produced by Maliwan and Chokchai Pechpanna, with Art Birzneck, Mahendroo and Chatchalai Anunarsapong as exec producers.

Pic has been pre-sold at Cannes by Birch Tree to EuropaCorp for France, Selectavision for Spain and Medyavizyon for Turkey. EuropaCorp also acquired "Brave" for France.

Action Slate previously announced "Hands of the Dragon," which starts filming in Vancouver and Mumbai, India, in June.

" 'Sanctuary' will be one of three more films Action Slate will shoot this year," stated Birzneck, "all of which will be martial arts action films shot in exotic locations."
