Rupert Wainwright and Lee Nelson's Breathless Films also will produce. Mike McNulty, who produced the 1997 documentary, "Waco: The Rules of Engagement," will co-produce.
"Waco" centers on the 1993 stand-off at Waco, Texas, when the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives attempted to arrest David Koresh, leader of the Branch Davidian cult. Four ATF agents, Koresh and 76 of his followers died.
Budgeted at $30 million, "Waco" will be directed by Wainwright ("Stigmata," "The Fog") from his script, co-written with James Hibberd. Lensing begins in October.
Ferrari's Entertainment 7 has acquired worldwide rights to the film. His next project is the drama "For Love Alone," which begins shooting in August.
