'Sam's Story' sells to several territories

Film stars Neve Campbell, Gabriel Macht

Romantic comedy "Sam's Story," starring Neve Campbell and Gabriel Macht (“The Spirit”), is racking up robust presales.

Velvet Octopus has sold rights to Germany’s Telepool, Benelux’s BFD, Korea’s Ssamzie Entertainment, former Yugoslavia’s Xpand Digital, ECS in the Middle East, Portugal’s Lusomundo, Turkey’s Chantier, Indonesia’s Queen, and Blue Sky in Eastern Europe excluding Russia.

Pic, budgeted just under $10 million, is helmed by Dutch director Miriam Kruishoop (“Unter den Palmen”) and written by Kruishoop and Christopher Granier-Deferre and produced by Sanfu Maltha (“Blackbook”) and Molly Hassell (“Edmond”).

Shooting is slated to start in August in the Netherlands.
