Keith Allen takes on royal family

Princess Diana doc alleges conspiracy

Combative Brit multi-hyphenate Keith Allen has made what he describes as "the antidote to 'The Queen,' " with a doc that alleges the U.K. media conspired with the royal establishment to hide the truth about death of Princess Diana.

"There Are Dark Forces," which looks at the allegedly biased press coverage of the inquest into the deaths of Diana and Dodi Al-Fayed, is being produced by Allied Stars Films, the late Al-Fayed's shingle.

Victor Lewis-Smith's Associated-Rediffusion is co-producing.

A 20-minute promo is being shown to potential U.S. buyers in Cannes.

Doc's producers are not seeking offers from U.K. buyers for fear of possible media backlash against the project.

Allen planted his own mole in the press tent during the inquest to cover any potential discrepancies between the Brit journos' accounts and what was actually happening.

Among the host of embarrassing incidents highlighted is the BBC's royal correspondent repeatedly falling asleep during proceedings.
