Germany's Icestorm licensed DVD rights on Argentine Tristan Bauer's war drama "Blessed by Fire." And, also in Germany, ZDF closed TV rights to Leonor Watling and Luis Tosar starrer "Unconscious."
"The development's a consequence of the market crisis, but it doesn't need to be negative," Saidel added.
In Cannes, Latido is market preeming Spanish pioneering flash animation pic "Animal Crisis," from a cult comic about an animal kingdom making an ill-fated vegetarian pact.
It will also present Manuel Gutierrez Aragon's reflective terrorism thriller "Who's Next," which will compete at next summer's 32nd Montreal World Film Festival.
