Goalpost to score in Australia

Projects with Blair, Nowlan in development

Film producer Rosemary Blight has inked with Tristan Whalley and Nicki Parfitt's U.K. shingle Goalpost Film to create Goalpost Pictures Australia.

Blight and her long-term partners Ben Grant, Kylie du Fresne and Cass O'Connor will focus on drama. This reps a break from Essential Viewing Group, their four-year partnership with producers Chris Hilton, Ian Collie and Sonja Armstrong.

Goalpost Oz will work with domestic and international partners on film and TV drama for Australian and international markets.

"It feels like a good time to be advancing our production capabilities and links within Australia and beyond," said Whalley.

The Oz production industry is cranking up, as tax breaks for film and TV production come into effect.

The Goalpost Pictures Australia slate includes Natalie Imbruglia pic "Elise," repped by Goalpost at Cannes, Julien Temple's opera pic "The Eternity Man" and the second season of kidvid "Lockie Leonard."

In development are projects with Wayne Blair, Cherie Nowlan, Keith Thompson, Josh Wakely and Tony Tilse.
