DreamWorks picks up 'Shared Fare'

Robbins to produce romantic comedy

DreamWorks has picked up Stacey Harman’s romantic comedy spec “Shared Fare” for Brian Robbins to produce as a potential directing vehicle.

Benderspink is also producing.

Story is based on a true-life experience of Langley Perer -- Benderspink’s director of development -- who split a cab with a stranger and ended up dating the guy for a year.

Robbins is shooting DreamWorks’ “A Thousand Words,” his third straight Eddie Murphy comedy. Sharla Sumpter is also producing "Shared Fare" via Robbins' Varsity Pictures banner.

Benderspink has recently set up “Shell Game” at Columbia, “Leap Year” at Spyglass, “Arena” at Summit, “Emma” at Screen Gems and “Pencilneck” at Lionsgate.

Harman recently rewrote “You Are So Dead: A Cheerleader Massacre” for MTV Networks. Benderspink is packaging her script “The Contract.”

Robbins is repped by UTA.

Harman is handled by UTA, Jill McElroy at Benderspink and attorney Patti Felker
