NEW YORK -- At the May 7 premiere of "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian," pic's writer-director Andrew Adamson spoke about his departure from the series.

"I've been working on (the first two) 'Narnia' films for about six years and before that the 'Shrek' films, so I'm ready for a good old break," said Adamson, who will serve as a producer on the third installment of the series being directed by Michael Apted.

As for the possibility of one day returning to the series director's seat, he would only say, "you never say never."

Screening was followed by an after-party at the New York Public Library complete with magicians, jugglers and arts and crafts tables as well as pic's stars Ben Barnes, Liam Neeson, William Moseley and Tilda Swinton.
