Korea's Bell pics chime in Japan

Five films will unspool from May 26-30

SEOUL -- The Korean movie industry may feel threatened since exports plunged and local market share fell to 50% but overseas fans are still keen.

To cater for them, five of the pics nominated for Korea's Grand Bell Awards, the country's most prestigious film kudos, will unspool in Japan from May 26-30.

Thesps Ahn Sung-ki and Kim Ah-joong are the event's promoters. Event is backed by Korean Intl. Movie Fan Assn.

The Grand Bell committee says it will take Korean movies on tour elsewhere in the future.

Korea's Grand Bell Film Festival runs May 24-28 and its awards take place on June 27.
