Depardieu plays a police captain who's intrigued by a phone call from a stranger who thinks he might have killed someone, but refuses to say whom. Clovis Cornillac ("A Very Long Engagement") co-stars.
Produced by Patrick Godeau for Aliceleo Cinema, "Bellamy" will be released in France by TFM Distribution in 2009.
Sales agent TF1 Intl. will shop "Bellamy" at the Cannes Film Festival, which begins on Wednesday.
TF1 Intl. will also co-finance helmer Laurent Tuel's "Inside Ring."
The thriller toplines Jean Reno ("The Da Vinci Code," "Ronin") as a violent Gallic gangster planning a final heist. Gaspard Ulliel, who won a promising actor Cesar in 2005, plays his son who wants to break free from a life of crime.
France's Thelma Films and Alter Films produce.
