Pic stars Cecilia Roth (“Talk to Her”) and Oscar Martinez as a married couple in their prime confronted with the “empty nest syndrome” after their youngest child leaves home.
Produced by Burman’s BurmanDubkovskyCine, in co-production with Spain’s Wanda Vision, Italy’s Classic and Paradis from France, "Empty Nest" opened No. 1 at the Argentine box office last month (although it was knocked down to second place by “Iron Man” in its sophomore frame).
The acquisition marks Bavaria’s second Burman film following 2004’s double Berlin Silver Bear winner “Lost Embrace.”
Celluloid Dreams handled international sales on the director’s last film, “Family Laws.”
