UKFC nabs Weltman for L.A. role

Exec will push Blighty shoots

LONDON — The U.K. Film Council has tapped Andy Weltman as production executive.

The appointment was made by British Film Commissioner Colin Brown. Weltman will be based in the U.K. Film Council’s U.S. office and will be responsible for building relationships with U.S. helmers looking to shoot in Blighty.

Weltman has previously overseen Saltire Film and Television’s feature film division based in L.A. and Glasgow. Prior to that Weltman developed and financed indie projects for Horizon Films, a shingle that he co-founded.
