nWave to go 'Around the World' in 3-D

Voice cast includes Anderson, Curry, Griffith

With its first 3-D toon, "Fly Me to the Moon," gearing up for August release, Belgian animation studio nWave Pictures has started work on its next feature, "Around the World in 50 Years -- 3D."

Pic reunites "Fly" helmer Ben Stassen and scripter DomonicParis. Stassen and nWave's Caroline Van Iseghem are producing along with Illuminata Pictures partners Paris, Gina Gallo and Mimi Maynard.

Story follows the adventures of a sea turtle hatched in 1959 as he travels the world while it is being changed by global warming.

Voice cast includes Anthony Anderson, Ed Begley Jr., Pat Carroll, Tim Curry, Kathy Griffin, Melanie Griffith, Stacy Keach and Jenny McCarthy.

Brussels-based nWave is self-financing the pic. Company aims to complete production in 2009.

"Fly Me to the Moon" will be the first animated theatrical feature released in 3-D. Summit opens the film on Aug. 8.
