Honors went to documakers Amanda Pope, Lonnie Lardner, Heather Ross and Roberta Grossman, all from California; New Yorker Jessica Gerstle; and Rebecca Schanberg, from Chicago.
The fund provides cash prizes and services to each finalist.
Director Cynthia Wade, whose "Freeheld" won this year's documentary short subject Oscar, was a 2007 finalist for the fund.
Cash prizes range from $1,000 to $5,000, depending on the needs of each recipient. In 23 years, the Women in Film Foundation has awarded more than $2 million in prizes.
