Innovative trims actor roster by 200

Cuts represent less than half of theatrical clients

Santa Monica-based Innovative Artists Talent and Literary Agency has trimmed its actor roster by about 200 clients, noting that it's taking the step in order to provide its remaining clients with better service.

Agency president Scott Harris told Daily Variety that would not disclose how many clients remain at Innovative but said that the cuts represented less than half its theatrical roster. The agency employs more than 40 agents.

He also noted that Innovative has not made any significant post-pilot season reductions in its roster in several years.

"We're doing this to re-capture our time and do a first-class job for our clients," Harris added. "This will take us back to our roots."

Harris said the cuts did not impact the agency's commercials and below-the-line rosters.
