NBC U content heads to Belgium

Distribution company pacts with VMMa

NBC Universal Intl. Television Distribution and Vlaamse Media Maatschappij (VMMa) have entered a multiple-year licensing agreement for exclusive free TV rights in Dutch-speaking Belgium for NBC Universal content.

Film titles included are "The Bourne Ultimatum," "American Gangster" and "Atonement" plus upcoming releases "Wanted," "The Incredible Hulk," "Mamma Mia!," "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" and "In Bruges."

In addition, VMMa has renewed the exclusive free TV rights for hit TV series "House."

"We are very pleased to be continuing our relationship with VMMa in Flemish Belgium," said Belinda Menendez, prexy, NBC U Intl. Television Distribution. "This agreement underscores their confidence in our product lineup for years to come."

VMMa, the leading independent broadcaster in Dutch-speaking Belgium, has three TV stations; flagship family entertainment channel VTM; 2BE for viewers in their 20s and 30s, which airs American content; and JIMtv, the interactive channel for teens.
