According to preliminary nationals from Nielsen, Fox drama "House" (5.0 rating/12 share in adults 18-49, 13.3 million viewers overall) was the night's highest-rated program in adults 18-49, even though it was down by about 14% vs. its Monday premiere of a week earlier. The net's opening-hour drama "Bones" was also down this week (2.7/8 in 18-49, 8.1 million viewers overall), running third for the hour in demos.
For CBS, "Two and a Half Men," in an episode written by "CSI" scribes, won its 9 o'clock half-hour in demos with a 4.8/12 in 18-49 while drawing 13.5 million viewers overall. Also for CBS, "How I Met Your Mother" continues to look good at 8:30, placing second in most categories (3.5/10 in 18-49, 8.3 million viewers overall) and building on "The Big Bang Theory" (2.8/9 in 18-49, 7.6 million viewers overall). Closing out the night, "Rules of Engagement" ran second at 9:30 (3.9/9 in 18-49, 10.5 million viewers overall), and "CSI: Miami" won the 10 o'clock hour (4.0/11 in 18-49, 13.9 million viewers overall).
ABC's 90-minute "Dancing With the Stars" (4.2/12 in 18-49, 17.9 million viewers overall) was down week to week, winning its opening hour and then running second in demos during the 9 o'clock half-hour. Following "Samantha Who" (3.0/7 in 18-49, 10.5 million viewers overall), the London-set version of "The Bachelor" (2.4/6 in 18-49, 7.0 million viewers overall) continues to under-perform.
NBC's "Deal or No Deal" hit a Monday low with its two-hour episode (2.3/6 in 18-49, 8.4 million viewers overall), but "Medium" again picked up nicely at 10 p.m. (3.2/9 in 18-49, 9.5 million viewers overall).
At CW, both "Gossip Girl" (1.0/3 in 18-49, 2.1 million viewers overall) and "One Tree Hill" (1.0/3 in 18-49, 2.2 million viewers overall) were down vs. their recent performances.
