Cardiff festival has new Soundtrack

Film Agency launches music, film event

LONDON -- The Film Agency for Wales is launching a festival celebrating music in movies, which will replace the Cardiff Film Festival.

Called SoundTrack, the first edition will run Nov. 26 to 29 in Cardiff. Director Danny Boyle will host a master class at the event.

The program will have a mix of screenings, live music, master classes, seminars, keynote speeches, workshops and an emerging talent competition.

The festival's key advisors include former Edinburgh fest director Mark Cousins, who said, "There are far too many film festivals in the world today, so new ones have to be distinctive. SoundTrack is very much so.

"It's not so much about new movies, as the crucial creative relationship film has with music. And in the coming years, it intends to be really international."
