Christie said the combination of the veteran and tyro filmmakers would develop and build a sustainable film and drama business for the Kiwi outpost of the Dutch firm formerly known as Touchdown.
Metcalfe's past releases include "Nemesis Game" and "The Ferryman" while Scholes -- best known for 1994 pic "Once Were Warriors" -- produced "The Tattoist" for Eyeworks last year.
"The Tattooist" was made with Mediacorp Raintree Pictures through a Singapore-New Zealand co-production agreement. Christie said collaboration is planned as part of the deal.
Metcalfe and Scholes will work together on some projects, including a film from local director Glenn Standring.
