CAA lands Will Eisner estate

Agency to package comicbook creator's library

'The Spirit'

Will Eisner's 'The Spirit' is currently being adapted for the bigscreen by comicbook vet Frank Miller.

Creative Artists Agency has landed the estate of comicbook creator Will Eisner as a client.

Idea is to take Eisner's library of titles and package them as movies, TV shows and other media properties.

Interest in Eisner's work has been heating up in Hollywood.

"The Spirit" is currently being adapted at Lionsgate and Odd Lot Entertainment, with comicbook vet Frank Miller writing and helming the stylistic actioner that's set to bow early next year.

Gabriel Macht, Samuel L. Jackson, Eva Mendes and Scarlett Johansson star.

Other Eisner books include "A Contract With God and Other Tenement Stories," "John Law," "Lady Luck," "Mr. Mystic," "Uncle Sam," "Blackhawk" and "Sheena."

In 1988, Comic-Con, the annual comicbook confab in San Diego, created the Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards in his name.
