Company picked up Shane Meadows’ revenge thriller “Dead Man’s Shoes,” “London to Brighton,” by Paul Andrew Williams, and Tom Vaughan’s 1980s-set comedy “Starter for Ten,” starring James McAvoy.
A leading German distributor of British cinema, Ascot’s latest acquisitions join a growing lineup of Blighty titles, such as “The Tournament,” “This Is England,” “Greenstreet Hooligans” and “Rising of the Footsoldier.”
“Dead Man’s Shoes” was sold by The Works, “London to Brighton” by Independent Film Sales and “Starter for Ten” by HBO/Revolutionary Releasing.
Ascot will release all three titles in German-speaking Europe this year.
In addition, Ascot has also picked up Yoshiaki Kawajiri’s straight-to-video animated pic “Highlander: The Search for Vengeance,” which will be released on DVD on May 6.
