The Swedish operator has also asked Portugal's Competition Authority to rule on Media Capital's sale Tuesday of its analog transmission rights to the country's four terrestrial webs to Portugal Telecom.
Until that time, AirPlus had been negotiating a joint bid with Media Capital, which is owned by Spain's Prisa group. The sale needs a greenlight from the Competition Authority.
AirPlus, which owns Finland's leading pay TV operator, Plus TV, and operates in several European countries, had requested a 30-day extension to the bid deadline pending the result of the ruling, but communications regulatory authority Anacom refused.
PT's biggest domestic rival, Sonae.com, has also criticized the deal, citing the concentration in Portugal's TV market.
