Ingmar Bergman week unveils events

As previously announced, German helmer Margarethe von Trotta will be guest of honor and Swedish helmer Jan Troell will unveil his new film "The Everlasting Moment of Maria Larsson" during the week, which runs June 24-29.

"Impressions," by composer Daniel Bortz, who worked closely with Bergman, will be performed for the first time by Pernilla August and Hakan Hardenberger.

Victor Sjostrom's silent classic "The Phantom Carriage," a film Bergman loved, will unspool with music composed by Henrik Bye, performed by Bye and his orchestra.

The docus are stills photographer Bengt Wanselius' "An Image Maker at Work," depicting Bergman's work with "The Image Makers," a theater show that was adapted for TV; and "Video Diary From Saraband," by TV producer Torbjorn Ehrnvall, who produced Bergman's last film, "Saraband."

Actress Gunnel Lindblom will talk about "The Silence," in which she played one of the leads. She will also be present when the TV adaptation of Bergman's theater production of "The Ghost Sonata" is screened.

There will also be an homage to recently deceased actress Eva Dahlbeck, including screenings of "Smiles of a Summer Night," "Secrets of Women" and "A Lesson in Love."

A newly restored print of "The Touch," starring Max von Sydow, Liv Ullman and Elliott Gould, will unspool for the first time.
