UKFC hands out p&a funds to films
'Lucky,' 'Light,' 'Persepolis' among recipients
The fund supports films that audiences might not otherwise be able to see, increasing viewing choices for U.K. audiences.
Momentum Pictures received $412,000 (£210,000) for "Happy Go Lucky," which goes out on 100 screens on Friday.
Optimum Releasing received $353,000 for "Persepolis," which will allow the April 25 release to be widened to 60 screens.
Fox received $302,000 for "Shine a Light." Coin contributed towards the April 2 U.K. premiere in which 98 cinemas around the country linked with the Leicester Square premiere for a live, one-off event screening.
The next biggest award, $39,000, went to Tartan Film Distribution for Park Chan-wook's "I'm a Cyborg," an offbeat Korean film about a girl who believes she is a robot.
Twenty other releases received $10,000 or less from the fund, which has an annual budget of $8 million.
