Teen heist pic 'Graduation' will get a limited release the first week of May via Truly Indie, Magnolia Pictures and Redwood Palms Pictures.

Teen heist pic "Graduation" will get a theatrical release the first week in May via a partnership among Truly Indie, Magnolia Pictures and Redwood Palms Pictures.

Helmed by tyro Mike Mayer from a script by D. Cory Turner, drama stars Shannon Lucio ("The OC"), Chris Marquette ("Alpha Dog"), Chris Lowell ("Private Practice"), Adam Arkin and Huey Lewis.

Plot involves four high schoolers' efforts to save a sick family member, for whom they rob the bank run by one of their fathers, not just for the money but for revenge.

Exec produced by Jason Blum, Jeffrey Korchek and Fred Fuchs, pic will unspool in Seattle, Minneapolis and San Francisco as well as Berkeley, Calif., and Austin, Texas. Redwood Palms Pictures and Wagner/Cuban's Truly Indie will handle the theatrical distribution; Magnolia Home Entertainment will release the DVD.
