Lifetime's 'Daughter' wins night

Telepic brings in 5.8 million viewers

Lifetime's original movie "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" conjured up 5.8 viewers on Saturday, making it the most-watched made-for on Lifetime since 1995. It also drew the largest aud of any entertainment program on the night -- broadcast or cable.

Based on the bestselling novel by Kim Edwards, "Daughter" pulled in an impressive 1.7 million women 18 to 49 and 2 million women 25 to 54. Among total viewers and the key female demos, "Daughter" is the highest-rated original movie on all of ad-supported cable so far this year. Lifetime's previous movie high, the biopic "Almost Golden," harvested 5 million total viewers in 1995.

Starring Dermot Mulroney, Emily Watson and Gretchen Mol, "Daughter" comes from the executive producers Howard Braunstein and Michael Jaffe. Mick Jackson directed, from an adaptation by John Pielemier.
