Fox plans a loose adaptation of the novel, which kicks off when a mummy's curse condemns Dr. George Henry's spirit to the Egyptian Underworld. While trying to free him, Henry's son Chance plumbs the depths of the Underworld and encounters a variety of monsters.
The tome, which creates a detailed mythology, was published in 2006.
Zick is no stranger to the world of film animation. As an artist, he has worked on such projects as "Finding Nemo," "The Road to El Dorado" and "A Bug's Life." He also penciled for Marvel on 10 issues of "Thor" and has produced comics for Darkhorse.
