Born in New Brunswick, N.J., Kamel started his acting career Off Broadway and began his career on TV with a role in "Days of Our Lives."
He made guest appearances and had recurring roles on dozens of TV series, playing Mafioso Tony Marchette on "Beverly Hills, 90210" and appearing in shows including "Mannix," "Kojak," "Lou Grant," "Hill Street Blues," "Cagney and Lacey," "L.A. Law," "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and "Melrose Place."
Kamel is survived by two brothers and several nieces and nephews.
