Cole Hauser to topline CBS' 'Tower'

Fox's 'Inn' welcomes Stanton, Ferguson, Purdy

Cole Hauser has been tapped for the lead role in "The Tower," the CBS drama pilot from "Cold Case" exec producer Meredith Stiehm.

Davis Guggenheim is directing the project, which will have Hauser starring as Sean Castleman, a crime reporter at a paper where journos investigate and solve crimes. CBS Paramount Network TV is producing.

Hauser most recently co-starred in the Fox drama "K-Ville." He's filming Tyler Perry's "The Family That Preys Together" and is set to appear in the features "Tortured" and "Like Dandelion Dust."

Meanwhile, over at Fox, laffer "The Inn" has rounded out its cast, starting with thesp Molly Stanton ("Notes From the Underbelly"), who will play Nicole.

Also cast on the show: Jesse Tyler Ferguson ("The Class"), who will play Larry; Jolene Purdy ("Boston Public") as Molly; and Brando Eaton ("Bionic Woman") as Jason.

They star opposite previously announced Niecy Nash in the skein, which revolves around the staff of a hip Manhattan hotel. Twentieth Century Fox and ShineReveille are behind the pilot, which was penned by Abraham Higginbotham.
