Leguizamo set for 'American Buffalo'

Actor to star in Mamet's Broadway revival

A revival of David Mamet's "American Buffalo" has staked out a fall Broadway run with John Leguizamo attached to star.

Robert Falls ("Talk Radio," "Death of a Salesman") will direct the show, produced by Elliot Martin ("A Moon for the Misbegotten"), Ben Sprecher and Louise Forlenza. Martin also produced the 1983 revival of "Buffalo."

The 1976 play follows three men in a junk shop who plot to steal a rare, valuable nickel. Show's 1977 Broadway run introduced Gotham auds to Mamet.

Scribe has seen a recent spate of successes on the Rialto. A 2005 revival of "Glengarry Glen Ross" won the Tony for revival, while Mamet's new politically-themed comedy, "November," has been selling well in a production that stars Nathan Lane.
