Five years after making his directorial debut with "The Station Agent," writer-helmer Tom McCarthy celebrated the release of his second directorial effort, "The Visitor," at the Museum of Modern Art on Tuesday.

McCarthy said he wasn't concerned about the sophomore slump.

"I didn't think that way. I was more concerned with doing something new and challenging. That's what I did with 'The Station Agent' and that seemed to work out."

What did concern him was his schedule, which involved acting on HBO's "The Wire" while editing "The Visitor."

"That was hard. There was a period in there that I am pretty sure I worked every single day and I am pretty sure that it ended a relationship I was in, but it was fun," McCarthy said before quickly adding, "Not the relationship ending, but the work."
