Indovision bulks up on BBC channels

BBC Worldwide, Cbeebies to be localized

HONG KONG -- Indonesia's Indovision has begun carriage of BBC Worldwide's BBC Knowledge and children's channel Cbeebies.

Both will be localized within six months; BBC Knowledge will carrying Bahasa Indonesia subtitles, and CBeebies will be dubbed.

"Offering our channels on Indovision's basic platform and its soon-to-be-launched TopTV and OKevision platforms reaches the widest possible Indonesian pay TV audience -- over 250,000 homes -- adding to the growing audience for our channels in this region," said Christine Leo-McKerrow, BBC Worldwide senior VP-general manager, global channels Asia-Pacific.

Indovision, which has 60% of Indonesia's pay TV market, is part of the  Global Mediacom group, which owns Media Nusantara Citra, the country's largest media group.
