Graham, who was an assistant in the development/production department, will report to Screen Gems prexy Clint Culpepper.
Move marks the first time Screen Gems has created a creative exec position since Culpepper took the reins of the Sony Pictures genre label in 1998. The label is aiming to beef up its slate to eight films per year.
Graham will work on all of the studio's projects in development, including two that he brought to the company in the span of a month: "Legion" and "Phenom," both in pre-production.
Before joining Screen Gems in 2005, Graham worked in the film development division for MGM Studios.
Screen Gems has two films in production: "Step Father" and "Fired Up." Upcoming releases include "Prom Night," which opens April 11; "Lakeview Terrace"; and "Armored."
