SDSU expands TV and film school

Center for the Study of Women opening

The School of Theatre, Television, and Film at San Diego State U. will open a Center for the Study of Women in Television and Film.

Dr. Martha Lauzen will serve as the Center's director. She has published a number of studies concerning the role of women in the entertainment industry including "The Celluloid Ceiling" and "Boxed In."

The Center's Advisory Board is comprised of industry experts including actress-scribe Nia Vardalos, thesp Kathy Najimy and helmer-scribe Robin Swicord.
