TNT greenlights 'Truth in Advertising'

Cabler commisions 13 episodes of drama series

TNT has given the series go-ahead to "Truth in Advertising," a contemporary drama set in a Chicago ad agency, and Lifetime has renewed its reality series "How To Look Good Naked" for a second season of eight new episodes, each expanded from a half-hour to an hour.

Truth stars Eric McCormack, Monica Potter and Thomas Cavanagh and deals with the private and professional lives of the creative executives of a fictional agency. TNT has ordered 13 hours. It comes from Greer Shephard and Michael M. Robin, who produce TNT's series "The Closer." Two of the writers of "The Closer," Hunt Baldwin & John Coveny, are the creators of "Truth." They will also be exec producers along with Shephard and Robin.

The new season of "How To Look Good Naked" kicks off in July, and Carson Kressley returns as host and co-exec producer.

The producers of "Naked" are RDF USA, Maverick TV Ltd. And Axiel Entertainment.

"Truth in Advertising" brings to three the number of scripted rookie series TNT has commissioned for 2008. The two others are the 10-episode legal drama "Raising the Bar," from Steven Bochco, and the 13 hours of "Leverage," the action-adventure show from Dean Devlin's Electric Entertainment

Existing scripted series on TNT, both renewed for another season, are "The Closer" and "Saving Grace."
