Kathleen Kennedy will produce through Kennedy/Marshall. The deal was a low-seven-figure advance against multiple million dollars if the film gets made.
Thriller, which Morgan wrote before he got an Oscar nomination for "The Queen," is in the vein of "The Sixth Sense."
Morgan, whose recent scripts include "The Last King of Scotland" and "The Other Boleyn Girl," has become hot auction material. Several studios bid on his play "Frost/Nixon"; director Ron Howard recently wrapped the feature adaptation for Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment, with Frank Langella and Michael Sheen reprising their stage roles as Richard Nixon and David Frost, respectively. Morgan wrote that script as well.
Morgan’s spec deal was brokered by UTA and U.K.-based Independent.
