Published last year by Houghton Mifflin, the novel tracks the courtship of a young couple in New York. Their relationship evolves through the life-changing events of Sept. 11, 2001. The novel has been described as an Annie Hall-like tale of unlikely lovers in Gotham.
Meriwether is a 25-year-old Yale grad whose Off Broadway play "Mistakes Madeline Made" got her onto the Fox lot, where she wrote the FBC pilot "Sluts." Though the pilot wasn't picked up, it led to Meriwether getting "Maynard and Jennica" as well as "Fuck Buddies," a friends-with-benefits comedy that is being developed by the Montecito Picture Co.
