Numrich
Put his acting training to immediate use after graduating last May.
His work schedule says it all. Numrich has been out of work for all of eight weeks in the past 11 months. More significantly, his 2007-08 season represents not one long-running gig in a national tour or Broadway show but rather three different high-profile plays, starting with “Iphigenia 2.0” at the Signature Theater, “The History Boys” at the Ahmanson and “The Cure at Troy” at Seattle Rep.
Like his career, Numrich’s education has been one that breaks the rules.
Growing up in Minneapolis, “I was home-schooled my whole life,” he says. Numrich’s flexible schedule gave him an advantage over other young actors, making him available for weekday matinees while other kids were in class.
As part of his high school studies, Numrich attended the U. of Minn., but found the classes a little “disparate and not cohesive,” so he decided to study acting at Juilliard.
“At a conservatory, it is so intensely focused on the thing itself: acting,” he says.
